Description
Goal: To minister to the youth of Covenant Church (7-12 grade) in a purposefully relational
and thoroughly biblical manner that equips each student to know and love Christ and His
Bride, the Church.
Responsibilities:
1. Creatively pursue and maintain relationships and fellowship with youth. One-on-one
and small group relational ministry will be instrumental in this area.
2. Participate in the weekly youth Sunday school meeting.
3. Assist the Youth Ministry staff in the preparation for and execution of the weekly Jr.
High and Sr. High Wednesday night youth group meetings.
4. Serve as a leader for our major summer trips.
5. Participate in Covenant Church’s annual Vacation Bible School program.
6. Participate in weekly staff meetings with the Youth Ministry staff.
7. Assist the Assistant Pastor of Youth in planning, coordinating, and scheduling youth
activities. Provide administrative and creative support in appropriate areas.
Reporting Relationships:
Summer Interns report to the Assistant Pastor of Youth, as overseen by the Session, on a
day-to-day basis and participates in the weekly ministry of the entire church staff.
Expectations:
• Duration of internship: Tuesday, June 1st – Sunday, August 8th
• Hours per week: 40 hours
Salary: $0-$29K
Requirements
The Profile of a Youth Ministry Summer Intern:
A Youth Ministry Summer Intern must be a godly college-age (or older) man/woman who exhibits
the following qualities:
• Spiritual maturity: possesses a good understanding of the Scriptures, the gospel of grace,
and a biblical world and life view
• Relationally gifted: able to identify with and interact with Jr. High and Sr. High youth
and live the Christian life richly with them
• Leadership abilities: supports the vision of Covenant Church and contributes to it by
engaging in the discipleship of the next generation for the glory of Christ
• Effective communicator: clearly articulates biblical truth to students
