Application Deadline: Nov 26, 2026
Description
Crossgate Church is seeking a Student Ministry Director to lead and develop our student ministry. This is a full-time ministry role working in close partnership with our pastor, parents, and volunteer leaders.
The purpose of Crossgate's Student Ministry is:
Drawing youth to Christ and developing their maturity in Christ — by grounding them in the Gospel of grace and guiding their dependence on the whole counsel of God’s life-giving Word — working together with the parents and families of our middle and high school students.
The ministry consists primarily of weekly gatherings (“Midweek”), Sunday morning gatherings, and individual student engagement, along with service, social, and outreach events throughout the year. It operates under the oversight of the pastors and session, in ongoing communication with parents, and with the support of church volunteers. Our students come from a range of educational backgrounds — including homeschool, public school, and private school families — and the ministry is designed to welcome and serve them all.
Salary: Undisclosed
Requirements
Teaching & Discipleship
• Plan, prepare, and lead weekly student gatherings (Midweek) and Sunday morning student gatherings • Teach Scripture faithfully, keeping the gospel of Christ central — aiming at hearts, not merely information or behavior
• Engage students individually through regular one-on-one meetings, attendance at their events, and pastoral care
• Develop a discipleship pathway that moves students through middle and high school toward maturity in Christ
Parent & Volunteer Partnership
• Maintain regular, intentional communication with parents — viewing them as primary disciple partners in the ministry
• Recruit, train, and support church volunteers who serve in student ministry
• Collaborate with pastoral staff and report regularly on ministry progress
Community & Outreach
• Take ownership of growing the student ministry — expanding its reach, increasing student participation, and developing a thriving presence among the youth of our community
• Cultivate a ministry culture in which students are equipped and encouraged to invite friends and engage their communities with the gospel
• Welcome students from outside the church who are curious about Jesus
• Build relationships in the broader community, including local schools where appropriate
Events & Administration
• Plan and coordinate retreats, service projects, mission opportunities, and seasonal events • Manage student ministry communications, calendar, and budget in coordination with church staff • Maintain regular office hours and participate in staff meetings
• Commit to personal and professional development through mentoring and educational opportunities
How to Apply
Qualifications
• Genuine, mature faith in Jesus Christ and a deep love for God’s Word
• A demonstrated passion for discipling students and a gift for building authentic relationships with teenagers • Theological alignment with the Westminster Standards and the PCA; willingness to become a member of Crossgate Church
• Strong communication and teaching ability — comfortable leading a room and meeting one-on-one • A collaborative spirit: able to work well with pastors, parents, volunteers, and students of varied backgrounds • Bachelor’s degree required; seminary education (completed or in progress) preferred; the ideal candidate will
be on a path toward ordination in the PCA, or willing to pursue ordination upon the completion of their education
• Successful completion of a background check and child safety training
