Application Deadline: Nov 30, 2026

Description

Volunteers help with hospice care in many ways, including:

Patient Care (non-medical):

  • Offering companionship to patients facing terminal illness, whether they be in their home or a facility, by engaging in meaningful conversations, reading to patients, playing music, or simply listening to their stories.
  • Provide respite to family members so they can tend to personal matters, such as personal appointments or other obligations, take a little time to themselves for a haircut or to visit with a friend, or to just take time to rest and recharge.
  • Accompany patients on short walks or outings as appropriate and desired.

Administrative Duties:

  • Gather facility binders or home binders
  • Prepare informational packets and educational materials for patients and families.
  • Help with general office tasks such as copying and scanning documents or helping to take boxes down to the dumpster!
