Description
FGC is prayfully seeking a candidate to fill our Senior Pastor position. We are a smaller congregation and are open to either a full or part-time senior pastor, and if God should choose to grow the congregation of Fellowship of Grace, this position may be expanded in scope and duties.
The church’s two main priorities are:
• Biblical expository preaching
• Outreach, focusing on the northwest valley of Peoria and Glendale, AZ as a mission field.
Salary: $60K-$89K
Requirements
General Responsibilities
• The Pastor shall serve as a spiritual leader of the church. It is expected that he will cooperate with all church organizations in carrying forward the mission and ministries of the church.
• He will be responsible for overseeing the planning and conduct of worship, administering the sacraments, and shepherding the church.
• As time permits, it is hoped that he will be a faithful participant both in the local and national work of the Presbyterian Church in America. Again, as time permits, he may represent the church as it participates in the wider work of God’s kingdom, both in Peoria and beyond.
Theological Leadership
• Knows the Bible thoroughly, as well as biblical and Reformed theology
• Understands church history and its relevance for today
• Understands current theological issues
Preaching and Worship Leadership
• Labors to discern the meaning of biblical texts
• Preaches with authority, urgency, dignity, and conviction by clearly and plainly expounding the meaning of a biblical text, explaining its relevance to the people
