Description


Care and Counseling seeks a Clinical Director (CD) to oversee the mental health clinical services, enhance the professional development and training of clinical staff, and manage the training program. This leader’s responsibilities include clinical staff hiring, management, and evaluation; program and clinical outcomes and evaluation; compliance, accreditation, and clinical policies, practices, and procedures. The Clinical Director is a member of the leadership team and reports directly to the Executive Director. As a member of the leadership team, the CD is expected to contribute to organizational effectiveness, process improvement, strategy, policy and procedures, budgeting, and clinical effectiveness. 

Care and Counseling has a 53-year history and is the region’s only accredited, interfaith, nonprofit counseling center. Today our services include mental health services for children, adults and families, as well as congregational and clergy training and psychoeducation programs. We are unique as a regional mental health provider in that we are committed to ensuring that all who seek our services can receive them.

This is a full-time, salaried position with flexible schedule and benefits. Salary commensurate with experience. This position is ideal for the candidate who wants to lead a strong clinical team and services to fulfill the center’s mission of enhancing emotional, relational, and spiritual well-being, through exceptional quality and accessible counseling, professional training, and community education.


Major Responsibilities

Mental Health Clinical Services

·        Manages a team of 20+ licensed clinical staff, including providing clinical consultation to staff; ensuring high quality service delivery; and monitoring compliance with agency and best practice standards for care

·        Executes performance evaluation and professional development processes for clinical staff

·        Supports administrative team in scheduling, records requests, billing, and other clinical administration

·        Leads the clinical services budgeting process and monthly financial review and analysis

 

Quality Assurance and Compliance

·        Designs and implements clinical quality outcomes practices and measurements, based on industry best practices, for internal and external reporting

·        Works in partnership with the Director of Finance and Administration to ensure all HIPAA and other compliance activities are complete and documented

·        Leads the accreditation process as a center within the Solihten Institute

·        Annually revises the Clinical Services procedures manual

 

Training Program

·        Designs and executes annual training calendar, including creating/maintaining relationships with instructors

·        Maintain center accreditation to provide continuing education units for training programming

·        Leads relationship building for community partners

·        Manages peer and group supervision assignments and psychiatric consultations

 

Resident Program

·        Markets Resident program within broader St. Louis community

·        Recruits and hires Residents

·        Provides weekly group clinical supervision to Residents and clinical consultation as needed

·        Coordinates with supervisors to ensure Residents are obtaining supervision hours and meeting clinical and educational goals

·        Manages Resident cohort, acting as coach, mentor, and clinical and administrative support

 

Other

•       Interact with the Board of Directors, serve as staff liaison for the Clinical Services committee of the Board

•       Active member of the Equity and Inclusion Task Force

Requirements


Experience and Qualifications

·        Master’s Degree in psychology, social work, marital and family therapy, pastoral counseling, or related field

·        Licensed in the State of Missouri as a LCSW, LPC, LMFT, or equivalent

·        Five plus years’ experience in managing teams

·        Commitment to mental health care and agency mission

·        Ability to work with diverse staff, clients, and faith communities

·        Experience in providing clinical client services

·        Strong working knowledge of therapeutic techniques, clinical best practices, and industry standards for mental health

·        Experience with psychodynamic practice, family systems therapy, and/or spiritually integrated psychotherapy preferred

·        Strong working knowledge of compliance policies, processes, procedures, regulations, and documentation

·        Ability to work within and manage deadlines

·        Ability to handle confidential and sensitive information about client services in compliance with HIPAA regulations

·        A demonstrated commitment to high professional ethical standards and equity and inclusion

·        Innovative thinking for process improvement and researching and implementing best practices

·        Team player with collaborative leadership and management style

·        Excellent verbal and written communication skills
