About us
Living With Purpose is a non-profit 501(c)(3) agency that was created in 2012.
Our mission is to offer community housing and community integration to adults with developmental disabilities in nurturing, positive, and stable home-like environments
Living With Purpose services individuals with developmental disabilities and/or mental illness with a goal of helping them to live the best independent lives possible. We're seeking individuals in the Direct Support field to help us fulfill this goal. We have several positions open in the Jefferson County and the St. Charles County areas. We are seeking compassionate, dedicated and qualified individuals that are looking to make a difference in the lives of others.
Job Responsibilities will include:
- Assisting clients with daily personal tasks, including bathing and dressing if needed
- Completing housekeeping tasks such as vacuuming, washing dishes and tidying
- Helping plan client appointments and organize a schedule
- Organizing with transportation arrangements to appointments
- Shopping for groceries and preparing meals that meet specific client dietary needs
- Encouraging client engagement in social networks and communities
- Attention to detail, especially when adhering to specific protocols and rules while carefully following instructions to care for the needs of the client
- Integrity to ensure clients feel safe and comfortable when tending to personal activities such as helping them bathe
- Trustworthiness and dependability so clients and their families feel comfortable relying on them
- Interpersonal skills when working with clients, including having compassion and being sensitive to their emotional needs when they are in extreme distress or pain
- Physical stamina when performing tasks such as lifting or turning their client
Pay is dependent upon levels of experience, education and trainings.
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time, Contract
Pay: $13.00 - $15.00 per hour
COVID-19 considerations:
We're constantly working hard to keep our staff and consumers safe. We have all the CDC recommended necessary protective equipment. Staff can also request any protective equipment if it's not already available.
Salary: $0-$29K
Requirements
Experience is not required, motivated candidates without experience will be trained. Must be at least 18, with a high school diploma or GED, have a valid Driver's License with insurance, need to have basic writing skills and an open mind.
Background screenings are ran through the FCSR (Family Care Safety Registration)
Potential candidates need to be able to successfully obtain CPR/First Aid Certification, Med Level 1 and MANDT Certification, which is provided by the agency if needed.
